I’ve not gone mad in this pic: I’m just cutting a hole in the wall from the adjacent unit into our lounge area. That’s right: we’re expanding! We’ve been working on lots of projects and really needing some space for all the large tool donations that were queuing up. We just needed the room to stand them up. Our new Toolroom includes:
compound mitre saw
bench-top drill press
On the way is:
CNC circuit board mill
CNC mill for larger work (plywood, MDF, etc)
Come and check us out on Tuesday Open Night 7-10pm. If you have tools you can donate, ping me.
This is a new projector mount we designed, built, and installed in the lab tonight. Many thanks to Ed and Gus for working with me on this to git ‘r done in time for the 5+5 event on the 26th. Now our speakers will have a projector available.
Every creative space needs a freakishly-loud sound system. Ours comes, no surprise, by way of donated parts. This amp was kindly donated by Mike Carmody (thanks Mike!) and was delivered with a service manual to boot! Sweet. Aspiring DJ’s need only show up with their BlackBerry handhelds, or iPods, or laptops and jack in via 3.5mm plug.
Yep, we were back in the space today, working away. Check out these sweet benches we got through Ed. They fit perfectly by the windows. Click through for a couple more up-to-the-day pics… Read the rest of this entry »
