Kwartzlab Growth Plan
This is a formal Business Growth Plan for Kwartzlab, created using resources from the Waterloo Region Small Business Centre.
We will use this plan to guide our efforts to grow our membership and improve our facilities. We will also use this plan to convince potential sponsors and funding agencies that we know what we are doing, and that their donations will be used effectively.
We will improve this plan by getting help from experts in the local business community. To start with, we will book a meeting with a consultant at the Small Business Centre.
To grow Kwartzlab, we need to look at where we are, where we have been and where we want to go. We must clearly identify our objectives and define the steps we will need to take to achieve them.

Business description
Kwartzlab is a makerspace. It is a community operated meeting place and workshop, where people can meet and work on projects. Kwartzlab's core purpose is to be a club for people who self-identify as "makers", and to promote the do-it-yourself ethic and Maker activities within the local community. Kwartzlab is part of a larger international cultural movement. Makers are creative people who make things, and who embody the "do it yourself" ethic. The Maker movement includes hundreds of makerspaces world wide, as well as Make magazine, and Maker Faires.
