Reprap 3D Printed Rocket model

By

After all the hard work on the 3D printer by Kevin, Doug, Richard and Don, i’d say that it’s ready for the average Kwartzlab member to use. To test this assumption, I designed the lower half of a rocket for a project I’m working on, exported it as an STL file and then followed the instructions in the wiki to print the object. The instructions can be found here 3D printer wiki. I will be updating the wiki with screenshots and a few other additions. One of the odd things to note is that when the software is compiling the G-code it will create hundreds of temporary files, one per slice, until it completes the final file. The temp files are deleted after.

I used Solidworks to design the part.

The finished printed rocket model.
