Icosahedron Flight Simulator Platform
By karlw
This video is of an experimental flight simulator platform designed by Kwartzlab member Don Leibold. The floating cockpit is based on the 20 sided geometric structure known as an icosahedron. The platform hovers on a cushion of air flowing from the circular base. Eventually it will provide motion for a flight simulator by integrating computer controlled gyroscopes. The entire frame will be be covered by a smooth skin and have the ability to rotate 360 degrees in any direction. This video was shot on December 2009 in Dons Lab at the old Bohemer Box building in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada.
