Great meeting with THEMUSEUM!
By DW
Great meeting this morning with David Marskell, Laurel McKellar, and Lori-Ann Earl at THEMUSEUM. Interesting to discover common motivations between THEMUSEUM and kwartzlab. David and his team have a really compelling vision. Seems like fertile ground for collaboration, for sure.
Post-meeting, Lori-Ann kindly gave me and Gus a top-to-bottom tour.
More after the break…
I love this giant open space.
Hey hey! We know these guys. Hi Marcel.
Lots of cool possibilities here.
Karl & EdB: please fix…
this. Maybe servo trouble?
Ceci n’est pas l’herbe.
Wide boardwalks…
and interactive video.
Ever since I watched the paper airplane challenge from here a few IgniteWaterloo’s back, I thought this space-above had great potential.
I love the heavy-duty engineering required for interactive museum exhibits.
After the human eye, my other fascination: paraboloids!
Ceci n’est pas l’aeroport.
No board members were harmed in this experiment.
Classic.
Now my brain’s cookin’.
Happy making,
DW

I went there with my daughter when she was two. She had a blast in the toddler area. Shame about the satellite communicator thing being broken – it was a lot of fun to play with!
I was just thinking earlier this week about how KWartzlab and The Museum would make a good pairing, especially as the latter seems so desperately in need of people willing to take some time to not only fix what they’ve got, but possibly create some new content. I’d considered volunteering for just that myself when I first went a couple years ago.
