Ottawa Mini Makerfaire – Trip Report

By

Last Saturday, November 6, Paul Walker & I represented Kwartzlab at the Ottawa Mini-Makerfaire. The venue was at the Ottawa Arts Court, a downtown building that houses a number of artists, studios and galleries.

It was small (in 2 1000-sq. ft. rooms), with about ten groups representing, but still fantastic. When the doors opened at noon, the public just flooded in. Paul & I were busy for the next six hours chatting an with endless lineup of guests, answering questions, showing off who we were and the projects we work on.

We were situated between a guy who makes & sells Nixie clocks, and Foulab, who showed off their amazing twittering teletype, dancing laser and other awesome projects.

Paul & visitors.

OMG PEOPLE EVERYWHERE

Many thanks to Paul for projects & hosting, Darcy for the touchscreen, Bernie for the clocks, and Ben for making schwag to dispense. I also stole the banana stands, so thanks James :)
