		<description><![CDATA[I&#039;ve seen these on a 1950s computer too! Cool stuff. Will try to find my pictures. 

I have a few vaguely similar devices, where each digit consists of a little multi-projector - one bulb per character like here, shining through a piece of film. Have seen them used on elevator readouts.

		<description><![CDATA[Oh man, I love that idea! I&#039;ve been wanting to build some sort of super-ridiculous alarm clock radio, and this would be just the thing for the display - nixies (the Site 3 Thing!) are just too challenging to drive. And require a _lot_ of voltage.

		<description><![CDATA[The colour diffusion is really nice.  I was thinking that maybe you could use a different type of cutter to play with the angle of refraction of the edge cut to get a different effect.  maybe it would make the glow sharper.
