Our Gus and Jack Jackowetz are doing an experiment: hanging a show of Jack’s work in kwartzlab.

This is super-exciting for us to have great art in our working space. Very inspirational. Also hoping this engages characters from the arts community into this thing of ours. Come and check out (and buy!) the work on our Tuesday Open Night this week or any TON up until and including March 2.

More after the break…

To support the experiment, Gus threw in his own cash to build these frames which will serve as reconfigurable display surfaces for mounting artwork.

There are 4 8′x3′ frames that will hang from the ceiling along the north wall. Ed and Bevan hung a rail across the ceiling joists last night to making hanging the frames easy (thanks guys!). I was on midnight painting duty last night so the frame materials would be ready for Gus to assemble this morning. In the spirit of “the sincerest form of flattery” we stole this idea from The Crit Group upstairs who used a similar scheme to hang work for their Box 09 show a few months back.

Jack came by the lab today with his work that had just finished a show in Artbar – remember that?

Hey, Station 2 Studios, across the street! Does this look familiar?

This warms my heart to see art juxtaposed with oscilloscopes

and the sheet metal brake.

So come out and see us, or just see us seeing the art by web cam.

Happy making,
